Rise Up

Who thinks we’re going to lose?”)Get down, get funky, it’s Friday!

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate y’all – you’ve given me tons of encouraging feedback lately, thank you! The dominant them of each message is how much optimism matters. Each of us is dealing with more change than we can say grace over but we are managing it one meeting, one hour, one day, one project at a time. How much does optimism matter? Here’s a flashback to my son’s soccer team dilemma (“Who thinks we’re going to lose?”) What a great lesson for all of us – if you think you can’t, there’s no point in taking the field.

Maya Angelou ill rise

For a select few, today marks one of the most memorable times in their life. Here are two songs to commemorate the opening of the 2016 Rio Olympics: Andra Day’s Rise Up and Katie Perry’s Rise, both inspirational anthems that should get you over the steepest challenge.

“You can’t find the fighter, But I see it in you…And I’ll rise up …like the day… I’ll rise unafraid and I’ll rise up high like the waves… in spite of the ache and I’ll do it a thousand times again.”

“Oh ye of so little faith, don’t doubt it, Don’t be surprised, I will still rise.”

Have a great weekend, may you rise up!
